A bit over a year ago my GM was broken into and my CD deck brutally ripped out. Generally speaking, the dash was fine, but the lower support (where the ash tray slides) was mangled, and the lower crossmember supporting the deck was destroyed. Word has it the whole dash would have to be replaced. The biggest problem was finding one! I had the body shop look around for a couple months to no avail. Well, they found one, but it was junk.

Anyways, I wanted to pick the brains here to see if anyone had connections, suggestions, etc. I fabricated something out of wood so I can at least have tunes, but I really would like to get it back to OEM. It is the light grey interior. It does have the antenna button, but since I hardly use the radio (95% + of the time is CD use) I don't really care if the new one has the button.

Also, the left front driver's seat bolt busted through it's support, so I have a cockeyed rocking chair now. Not fun while driving down the road. Any suggestiong? I have one idea, but I haven't had time to try it yet. BTW, it is not leather interior, although it is a LS.

Any help, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated!

I don't have a digicam, so it may take a while. THe dash shouldn't be too hard with a regular camera, except I already installed my fabricated thing. I have a solid oak cross member supporting everything. The easy way to picture it is with the ash tray. Picture grabbing the part of the dash above the ash tray but below the radio & cig lighter. Then picture what you just "grabbed" as missing, including the ash tray. That all suppoerts the radio. That's what was broke. THe metal plate/guide that the ash tray slides on is pretty bent up too.

As to the seat, that may be more tricky, as there isn't a lot of room to get a camera down there.

Maybe Eric would be open to meeting sometime so he can take a look and maybe better describe it (meaning administrator Eric).

I'll try to get pix, but no promises on the quality . . . . . .
