!Hello everybody! My car have a long time the "checkengine" light come on sometimes quick
sometimes take a 30 to 40 minutes to go on I take the car to the mechanic and he put in the
scanner to check what is the problem but the problem is that the scanner don´t give a diagnostic
and i´m getting angry,a friend mine told me that it could be the spark plugs cables or oxigen
sensors but the question is why the scanner don´t find the failure please if some of you can
tell me maybe what can be I would be very granted,by the way my car is a Crown victoria lx 1993
thank you for your time.

Sounds like maybe time to go to a different mechanic if his scanner does not give you a diagnostic? SOMETHING is causing a problem, that is for sure. Problem is, many things can cause the check engine light to come on. Something as simple as not tightening your gas cap can do it. This year alone we have had to replace the oxygen sensor on my car, my wife's car, and today... my son's car. All 3 cars had the "check engine light" come on and in each case it was the oxygen sensor that was bad. You need to find someone to diagnose what the problem is first. I'd try getting a "second opinion" with a different scanner. Buena suerte, amigo!

My Ford dealer told me once that if the check engine light comes on there will be an error code or something. My car had a problem, surging, high rpm, bucking and no check engine light. That was a much worse problem.
I agree with the OP that said find another opinion, because the check engine light means a problem code was deposited in the holding tank. |
