I'm currently changing the engine in my grand marquis to a '71 429 cobra jet as I am buying the engine for $100 can. with the original long tail stock tranny.(cheaper than fixing the rotted oil pan and bad oil pump and dirty spark plugs/ignition system) I'm already aware of the clearance problems and I've already concluded that the custom body job I'm doing will compensate nicely for the clearance problems. (hood scoop over breather, extended hood towards front for clearance for rad to be moved forward) But, what I want to know is, without changing the original C-6 on the 429 will I be able to use the 5.0L's motor mounts in the grand marquis? What other parts, etc. might I have to change/alter for the 429 to fit? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
