i need help
my mercury cougar (198 ls keeps accelerating after i let off the gas.
can any one tell me what that may be so i can fix it.

Do you have cruise control? My LTD did that and I fixed it by disingaging the cruise control permanantly. I had a Pontiac that did that and it was a broken motor mount. My Torino did that until I put graese on the throttle linkage.
