Take a brass drift and a hammer, hold pressure on the steering wheel toward you, while someone smacks the stud you took the "Nut" off of.
The reason for the drift is so you do not mess up the threads, if you do you are fubar...You can leave the nut on so it is just off by one thread and do it with two hammers, but do not mess the threads up. Or hit up your local autoparts and purchase a puller for 20ish or so bucks. You should have two bolt holes, one on each side of the stud in the wheel, that you would use to run bolts into, after you put the puller in place. Then you screw in the center screw of the puller and it eases the wheel off the columm. This is the correct way but I never use my puller for such an operation. But maybe you need a new tool, so go get one so you do not screw up.
Glad it is older as you have no air bag.
