I wanna know of an after market snorkel kit for an 1982 F-150 that is almost direct bolt on.also what is the best way to keep the distributor dry. it sits on the side of the engine and is prone to drowning out. I have a 300-6cyl motor in this truck. also with it already being lifted 3" how much suspension lift will be needed with out cutting fenders to clear 36" tires. I dont mind slight rubbing either.

i think you will need at least 6 inches of suspension lift. Check out ford-trucks.com or fullsizebronco.com and search for the topic of fitting 35's and they should have more info
85 f150 4x4
300 cubic inches of raw muddin machine torque
88 f150

Jason there is a product called DC 111 made by Dow Corning hence the DC it is like a grease but it is silicon if you take your distributor cap off and put a quarter of an inch "bead" of this stuff all the way around the bottom lip before re-installing it. Then take each plug wire off and put a "bead" inside each plug wire put them back on. Put a "gob" of this on top of each wire boot completely around where the wire goes into the boot. Do the same for the coil wire. This stuff is fantastic it wont harm rubber, viton, neoprene, and it is good to help get the boots on the hottest temperature I have had it in was 500 degrees. The dielectric properties was what we used it for. Hope this helps. |
