Say what you will about the P71, but it has a proud, solid history (which is why I bought it) anyhow I think it's time to fix it up and modernize it a bit. I'm looking for a bit of insight. I wanna take some part from a newer model ('05 and up) and replace things like the instrument cluster, seats, door panels, rear seating. My vehicle is a 2000 PI, and I want to modernize it to a 2005ish sort of look.

Questions
(1) take the newer instrument panel and connect it so that even the tachometer can work properly? (2000 CVPI does not
have a thac- but would like one that works in the '05 cluster)

(2) I'm assuming Ford didn't go so far as to change the dimensions on the doors, but I just want to make sure the newer generation door panels would fit.

(3) Also assuming Ford didn't change the boltings on the underside of the front seats even through they were redesigned.

(4) Will the newer steel wheels fit on the 2000 (with spacers maybe)

Any and all help will be appreciated.

The tach with new instrument cluster did not happen until 2006. Also 17 in. wheels in 2006 as well. Wish I could help with more of your questions.

Good luck, Dave

For some reason I convinced myself it was the '05 model they remade, thanks Dave.

Nope, the 2006 cluster won't work in your 2000, different computer system driving it.

.

Door panels fit but require you to use the 2003+ interior handles or have it look like crap, you need the parts off a donor car.

You are good to go but may need the seat sensors from your old seats, they will all bolt in.

You need 1.5" spacers front and rear(2" rear for better look).

You're a life saver. Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it. Bummed I can't put a tac in but with everything else okay I'm pretty stoked. Thanks again Honda
