Welp, replaced the dist with tfi and bazam, Big fat nothin. Battery was dead. Hooked 'er up to my truck and got juice, but still wouldn't start up. Crankin and tryin very hard, just not pullin it off. Fuel pump engages. Took spark plug out and we're definately getting fuel and a fat spark at least that far. Big poof to prove it. What in the hades could it be? Possible it could be the ignition coil? starter relay? HELP!

How do hyou know that the pump is pumping? Also what year is it? The 80's Broncos had two pumps. Have you changed your fuel filter in a while? Is it EFI or carbed? More info needed.

You can hear the pump engage when you initially turn the key for start, also gasoline on the spark plug when we pulled it. It's an 86 and EFI. Don't think pumps are issue since we are getting fuel to the plugs and DH has a pressure meter that reads good. high pressure pump was changed within the last couple of years. Pressure regulator changed recently, also all 8 injectors. Initially, we thought it was a fuel so we concentrated solely on that system but hasn't helped. Battery is pretty wasted now and even with a feeder from my truck, it would die when trying to crank it up. We changed the alternator within the last year, but hubby has firewall mounted voltage reg and that's been suggested as a possible cause, or maybe starter relay? Whatya think? Thanks!

Well, Damn! Changed the ignition coil, battery and some other relay husband pulled off the firewall (not starter relay) and still nothing. timing gun reads 10 tdc. checked fp just in case and it was at 40 psi (supposed to be 35 - 40). WHY in HADES won't this dayum bronco start??? Anyone have ANY idea? PLEASE?!
