for about 5 months on my 89 bronco my pedal has been considerably heavy. It takes some pushing down on that pedal to get it to move. It won even move when in drive and foot off the brake. I decided it was the trhrottle cable so i took off the cover to my throttle body and looked at it. I noticed that the plastic part inside the spring on the cable linkage was shattered. I figured this might cause some of the problem. I have been trying to find a replacement cable linkage but i cant find one any where. Do i have to buy a whole new accelerator cable? Also sometimes when i press down on my pedal it gets really heavy and then makes a popping sound? Could this be a vacuum leak or something else? How can i fix these things?
