I recently acquired a 2011 Crown Vic Police Interceptor, and I'm hoping to make use of some of the extra wiring/accessories it has. For now, I have two questions.

1. Is it possible (as opposed to feasible, advisable, etc) to re-purpose the manual fire-suppression button in this vehicle? I could probably answer my own question if I could locate a detailed wiring diagram for the suppression system.

2. How can I enable the courtesy lamp system? Some of my research indicates it can be done using a programmer of some sort.

1. Most likely, doing anything with the button will disable the system entirely. I wouldn't touch it.

2. Courtesy lights(come on with doors open) is a dealer only programming thing since 2006, you can go to any Ford dealer and have them turn the "dark mode" off. Standard connection fee is about $100 just to hook the car to their system whether it takes 5 minutes or an hour(shouldn't take more than 10). You can stop by the dealer and talk the price down to a more reasonable amount. Of course the dome lights could have been disabled by the upfitter or department by cutting a wire and the dealer programming won't help.

Certainly not worth $99.99 (local quote) for courtesy lights via reprogramming, lol! I'll wire my own independent system before I toss that much loot down that hole.
