Hello there I'm new to the forum,
I just purchased a 1978 Grand Marquis that needs some slight restoration and while looking over the bumpers I noticed that what looks like the plastic spacer for the bumpers is cracked so I'm looking to replace it. I would rather have a bumper that didn't stick out as far so to get a cleaner look and reduce drag I was thinking about eliminating the spacer by either cutting it out and mounting the bumper flush or just replace it with a 1972 Panther body bumper because that's pre 5 mph law. I want to know if anyone has tried this before or if it's possible. No big rush because I have bigger fish to fry like fixing the brakes.
