Hey folks. Long, long time user of SuperMotors site (since SuperFord days) and finally wanted to ask about this problem I've always had here uploading and using .MOV video files.
When I upload a .MOV file made off my Kodak Z760 camera (digital pic and/or video), they work fine on my PC (regardless of multiple platforms over the last decade) but when I upload them to SM, they get completely out of sync and basically become useless.
In this latest example (http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/1101449) I wanted to share the sound of an engine tick with my friends on FullsizeBronco but after the .MOV file is uploaded, you try to play it on SM and the sound plays out at the normal speed but the video seems to play out at super-speed and the video ends before you can even get to the important sound part of the file, ending the video play through.
I've had this problem repeatedly over the years but finally wanted to bring this up here and see if there's something I'm doing wrong (uploading the same as pic files or ???) or if there's a compatibility issue with the file type or what, exactly is the problem. Help?
I really don't want to have to make a YouTube channel, just to share a few videos I make once or twice a year, every couple years... but in this regard, SuperMotors has been a real disappointment and that's a drag, considering we (staff at FSB) usually refer our members here for hosting pictures and videos to share with our community. With a lot of the down times and limitations like this... it's hard to justify that to our members, especially with so many alternative options out there these days.
Also... it would be really nice if there was a simple way to embed these videos on vBulletin forums, like FullSizeBronco.com, rather than forcing forum users to open the supermotors page, just to play the videos here because that's the only obvious way to link them into another forum.
Thanks for your time and attention.
