ABS light on at all times. No ABS or traction assist. Actron scanner tries but unable to communicate with scanner. Connection problem. Swapped in good abs module and abs relay. All fuses are good. No switched power at abs module pins 3 and 33. No run power at pin 53. Power at pin 35 keep alive power. Unable to test anti lock diode 1N4003. Suspect broken wire. Any ideas would be appreciated. Have to keep this Crown Vic going until Ford wakes up and re-introduces the CV AND TC.

One surprising thing that can do this is your brake fluid level, I did not see you mention it so give that a quick look. The sensor also picks up info on the quality of the fluid and will light the ABS warning if you need a flush as well.

Thanks. Brake fluid level is okay. What I am trying to understand is the scanner operation and why it will not connect to the abs module. Is it because there is no switched or run power to the module with the ignition switch in the run position? I am thinking of connecting a 12 volt jumper wire to the abs module connector orange/yellow wire to see if I can get switched power to work at pins 3 and 33. And maybe another 12 volt jumper wire to the black/white run power for pin 53. Just trying to figure out why the scan tool is unable to connect to the abs module. No problem connecting to the ECM module. Plenty of spare parts to work with from (37000 MILE) 93 Mercury Grand Marquis LS.

That is possible I would think you should have power at key on if you do not that is a little fishy to me

With ignition switch turned to run position, abs module connector voltage as follows:
Pin 3--- switched power-- .03 volts
Pin 33-- switched power-- .03 volts
Pin 35-- keep alive power--11.09 volts
Pin 53-- run power--------- 1.37 volts.
Pin-- 34--Anti lock brake relay output-- 10.97 volts.

Now to check ignition switch and splice S-118.
