I am thinking of picking up a 2009 crown vic. Has 106K miles on it with 6300 idle hours.
I ran a carfax on it, found that at 25K the trans was replaced, everything else after that was clean.
I've been reading all over about engine idle hours, but need more insight.

Looks pretty good, the tranny replace is not a huge issue as it was within the vehicle warranty. Price wise that is a bit high for my area here in Utah so not sure there, I would compare it to some local cars. |

I offered them 2800 and they accepted.
I'm worried about the idling hours though... 6300. I think I did the math right it would be around 319K miles ... |

Put it this way, before 2006 with the new cluster, very few people put idle meters in and knew how many the cars had. Think of a NYC cab that actually has 400k on it, then figure how many idle hours that thing has, it'd be around 1 million "miles" |
