Recently, I had my 2000 LTC give me Park Shifting + Brake Lights issues.
I immediately remembered the Brake Light Switch Replacement on my older
1991 LTC a few years ago...

I ordered up a new BLSwitch and replaced the PigTail connector
when I noticed that it was partially melted..! It took a while to
position the BLSwitch & get it to work properly with Brake Lights + Shifting out of Park.

Now about 1 month later this late afternoon, the same original symptoms have " Returned "...!

This time I can NOT Use the 1st key notch position " Workaround " to get the
Transmission out of Park...into Neutral ... to start and shift to Drive.

I have Replaced the BLSwitch, checked the pigtail connector + wires, Checked the
Fuses while being patient to wait for the systems to fully process while having my
foot on the Brake Peddle " Firmly "...! :o

Any additional " spot checks " 2 do on the Trap Line of Possibilities ...?

Check your brake fluid as well. My 99 Vic kept giving me that warning light and it ended up being low brake fluid.
