94 E-250 4.9L. Trying to test the ignition coil in place, I applied the (analog) ohmmeter leads across the primary winding terminals of the coil without disconnecting or removing anything (except I think I disconnected the negative battery cable, but I'm not positive), to try to diagnose a no spark no start. I think the ECM is bad, because the CEL does not come on, and my test light lights when I insert a probe into the (PK/LG) wire between the CEL bulb (MIL) and the ECM with the key on. I'm not sure whether the ECM was already bad, but could the current from the ohmmeter have fried it? I don't know whether the CEL was coming on before, because the truck has been sitting for awhile and may have been tampered with, and I didn't notice whether the CEL was working before I connected the ohmmeter.
