Check engine light came on when really cold -23 (138,000 mi.tires ok had scanned no codes had other vehicles (egr)stuck any suggestions ? Thanks.

If the code went away, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
If you can get a scanner that can read pending or code history, that might help a bit more.
