E150 8.8 Rear-end Swap into '91 F150

I'm new here and got directed looking for info on swapping in a E-150 ('04-06?) into my '91 F-150. I'm told Steve83 has done it and perhaps there's already an extensive thread on it, but I came up empty searching.

The biggest driver for the project would be to get rear disc brakes, but I also want to put a 3.55 rear-end in for the 3.08 that's currently in there.

The disc brakes will not perform substantially better than properly-maintained drums, so this mod will never pay for itself if that's your main goal.

My 3-ton (curb weight) Bronco still has 3.08s, and it'll do anything I want: DD, WW, interstate travelling, climbing, towing light or heavy trailers, hauling cargo, knocking down trees, forest trails, mountain trails... Changing the axle ratio doesn't make the truck more-capable of anything. If it's a 4WD, you'll also have to change the front gears to 3.07, which is a lot MORE money that you'll never get back.

Thanks for the reply Steve. Over the summer I burned up my clutch towing a trailer. The load was certainly way beyond capacity (especially for a 5-speed), so I think a little more gear will help there. And also, I hate drum brakes.
