What is the correct position for the transmission on a 04 Marauder as compared to the rear. I have a 1977 F100 on a 2004 Mercury Marauder chassis. It has a Terminator DOHC 4.6 supercharged motor with a T-56 six speed. When I got the truck, the trans was mounted crooked because the alternator was making contact with the frame. The alternator on terminators is down low on the driver's side, due to the blower. I flipped the alternator so there is room now and I want to put the trans in the correct location. Is it centered in the vehicle or offset a little. The pinion on the rear looks to be offset an inch to the passenger side.

Sorry I do not have an answer for you right off the bat my Vic is no more. My daughter got in an accident and totaled it

However I know a way you can find out. Measure from the inside of each rear wheel hub to the center of your rear differential. If the measurements are essentially the same the trans is not offset. If you have one side or the other that is shorter the trans is offset.

Off hand from what I can remember spending time under my Vic they are not offset but centered.
