hello , please help- i took my 1987 ford ltd crown vic 5.0 v8 EFI to get a smog check today. the man called me over before performing the test and said i would fail because , in his words, the RPM was too high, and he gave the reason as being that this component on what i guess is the distributor, is missing a cover . I took it to an auto electric place and the guy ran some test using a wire to see if it changed the high rpm, the dash panel has no rpm indicator so he based it off of how it sounded. At first he believed it sounded better, but then he said it needs a certain type but he could not give me exact name. FIRST TIME POSTING HERE WILL SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WERE ABLE/UNABLE TO VIEW THE PHOTO I LINKED,please?
