I tend to agree with the last post, in that modifying the exhaust system when you change the intake or heads will give you more HP and torque. It depends on what RPM range you want the powerband to be in, too. Installing a set of large headers and pipes without a muffler will reduce the backpressure inside the motor. I have only moderate mods internally on my 351W H.O., and installed the Edelbrock Performer intake. Combined with new stock exhaust manifolds, a single aftermarket cat and Flowmaster muffler with dual exits, it suits my needs fairly well. It also passes state inspection! If nothing else, I cleared up about half of all of the "spaghetti" in vacuum lines that were on the stock intake!!!
