Hi. I'm another newbie to the site looking for some advice. I'm looking at purchasing a 95 Bronco and could use some advice please. Its an XLT 5.8L, 115K miles, exterior (Red) and interior (Gray) are both in excellent condition, all power, limited slip, tow package, good BF goodrich all terrains. Asking price $7600.

It seems to run pretty good, a little loose in the steering. Plenty of tire noise and plastic noise in the cabin.

Any opinions on the price would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks,

Chadi

Chad,
Price depends on a few other things that I can't determine from here...such as:
Besides the usual visual, driveability and leak checks, and a compression check; look for:
- oil pan rust - our 96 started to form rust @65k miles; we always looked for it and it finally did start; it would be a pia to have to replace the pan (or cost you up to $500.00
radiator plastic side seam leaks esp. during engine cool-down period/overnight (could cost $120 to 350 depending on if you diy or have a shop replace it
auto tranny and transfer case operation - electric push button motor/connector is a prob. area
auto hub operation (get it in sand or mud and try the 4x4 system)
rust in inner rear fender lips and bottom of tailgate (our's was rusting due to beach sand wearing the paint)
radius arm bushing deterioration
cracked exhaust manifold/y
ball joints

all above are either costly or a pia to diy

here is wah the dealers use; the Black Book.

That's some really good advice on the problem areas. $7600 is in the ballpark for a '95 Bronco loaded and in prime condition. The mileage is on the high side (over 100K), I would use that as a bargaining chip to get a better price below $7K. The loose steering is a common problem with ALL TTB Ford's, usually due to worn tie rod ends, radius arm bushings, or steering shaft/gearbox play. Costly potential repairs would be things like the oil pan leak, rear engine oil seal, transfer case shift motor (pushbutton 4WD), and any other leaks in the tranny or axles. It's not uncommon to find some rust, especially up there in the North where the roads are salted down in the winter. See if the dealer has any maintenance records from the previous owner(s) to find out if any parts have been repaired or replaced. Good Luck!
