Heater Problem

Hi All,
I need guidance in resolving a heater problem in my 1988 Bronco II(2.9L). I don't get any warm air when I have it set to the heater and the fan going full blast. The engine temperature looks normal according to the temp gauge, the radiator coolant level is good, and the heater core doesn't seem to leak (at least the passenger side carpet is dry). The hoses doing into and out of the radiator to the engine both get hot to the touch after running the engine for a while, but neither hose going to the heater core gets hot. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey, mine did the same thing except it blew out some thin fog out of the defrosters from time to time so I replaced the heater core and it hasent happend since. Good luck

Heaters

Let's see now.

1. Engine Temp is Normal.
2. Radiator Coolant is ok and not leaking.
3. Fan Works, Full blast.
4. You have (Rubber Hoses), From thermostat to Heater Core and Form radiator to Heater Core, but not warm or hot to the touch of your fingers.

Ok, From what you are saying the Thermostat is not opening up and need to change it.
The Thermostat that I like to use is a Mr. Gasket Balanced one, Found this unit will open and close within 1 degree of whatever temp you purchase.

A list of things below is all there is to a Heater.

1. Control Panel (Located with the A/C Controls) mounted on the dash, Most of the time has a CABLE that will control a vent, changing the air direction though the Heater Core.
2. Fan, Located or Mounted on or next to the Heater Core, under the dash.
3. Heater Core, which has the two nozzles coming out of the firewall into the engine compartment.
4. Rubber Hoses, One that comes from the Thermostat to the Heater Core and is the INFLUENT LINE for the coolant, Then the other one is coming from the Radiator to the Heater Core, which is the RETURN LINE to the radiator.
5. VENTS & DUCTING, is the same used for A/C.

Thanks for the replies......I finally got the problem resolved. As it turns out, the exit nozzle from the heater core was obstructed with some crud. I cleaned that out and flushed the heater core with a garden hose and now it works fine. Thanks for the help.
