Thought I'd ask this question here...

My '88 T-Bird has the digital IP for speedo, etc, but it is faint to the point of being illegible. My local store has told me that it can run upwards of $400 to replace the IP (the gauges illuminate). Are the speedo and clock (also not operative) on the same circuit? (No owner's manual came with the car, so I pose the question here). Or is it a matter of replacing bulbs in the IP to get it to light up?

If someone out there has an IP cluster that you are willing to part with, please reply on this forum.
Thanks for letting me ask these dumb questions--I can fix some, but close detail work has me scurrying for the professionals.
