can someone please tell me where to locate the casting # on a 88 5.0 motor? this motor came from mustang gt but it looks like it has been changed and i want to see what i have here .any help would be apprecited

Jim,

You should be able to find them on the front of the block just below the driver side head. You'll probably have to pull your A/C compressor & mounts to see the numbers.
P.S.: You might be able to use the numbers off of the passenger side valve cover sticker if it still has factory valve covers.
