STUBBY 302 DISTRIBUTORS

THE DISTRIBUTOR OUT OF THE BLOCK I HAVE IS ABOUT AN INCH LONGER ON THE OIL PUMP SIDE OF THE GEAR.THE EXTENSION IS NOT THE SAME DIAMETER AND IT ISN'T MACHINED LIKE THE REST OF THE SHAFT.THE DISTRIBUTOR I NEED TO PUT IN IS AN OLDER DURASPARK UNIT THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE EXTENSION.I NEED TO KNOW IF THE DISTRIBUTER I GOT WILL WORK IN THE BLOCK?

The distibutor should work...however you will need a differnet Oil pump drive shaft... is this a roller cam motor? if so a differnt drive gear is used also..

no it's not a roller cam,it's a 2 pc.rear main and it was tbi

If you have time hit you'r local NAPA or equiv. have them pull one for a 351w it may be slighlty longer and would work for your app. you can always cut to make shorter... just a real PIA to stretch and make longer...

ford has solved the mystery for me the dealership couldn't tell me what it was for but a regular one worked.personally i think it was for reinforcement cause i've had a few ford small blocks with high volume pumps twist the shaft before.probably should go buy a hardened shaft huh?
