You must be careful in choosing your replacement 3.8L as my mechanic explained to me. There are 5 types of 3.8L blocks avalible. However only 2 were compatible with my '93 Sable. My mechanic was shipped an engine that the supplier assured with swap right in, howver it proved not to be the case.
Good luck with the replacement, and be sure to get a promise and documentation from your supplier that the engine will swap right in. I was happy not to get stuck with a spare block that I could not use.
