So my mother bought a Neon as a replacement for 3.8L Buick with broken tranny. As I browse throught neons.org forums, this Neon crowd seems to be very confused. Read the above link to V6 mustang vs. Neon post. Damn, my 1995 vic runs 16.1, stock V6 stang burns my vic.

They told me 1996 Neon ATX would run high 16 sec or low 17 sec. It feels more like it runs high 19 sec. The other day I had my AC on and was moving up ramp, with my right foot all the way down, it did not accelerate at all. Only after I took the on ramp, and was moving down hill, then it started to accelerate! There ain't no way, SOHC or DOHC 2.0L 4 cylinder front wheel drive 2800 litle car would take a mustang, stock or not.

The only way I could think of that they got so confused is no one actually races them. I guess those stangs were just moving along in traffic.

Bottom line, Neons are slow, small, and have no shoulder room. Power steering could not be felt at all. Brakes suck.

Perhaps I could prep that car for some racing, but that thing is nothing serious. If you want a small car buy Ford Focus. Ford eats Dodge.

No arguement here. But I consider Dodge to be German company. Although I've owned only Fords, I'd buy a Mini if I wanted a small car. My next car will be one of the new mustangs.

funny story actually cause i can relate. this is no joke i swear on my life this happend! i had a 1995 noen 5spd. i had removed the muffler for kicks and i forget where i was going but a v6 stang reved it at me at a red light. we were strangely the first two cars at the red light and when it turned green we both smashed the gas and yea u guessed it.....the v6 stang ate me hands down. yea i have to agree 4 banger sdont compare!!

Just get a nitrous system on that 4 banger
