It is very easy to install 351W (some call 'em big valve heads) on a 302 block. Just be sure to use the correct head gasket.
I have 351w heads on my '65 mustang. I hope to upgrade to aluminum heads soon (couldn't afford 'em originally).

Your thread title said 351m. 351m heads will NOT fit on a 302. 351W heads will. The 351M is in the "cleveland" family of engines and the 289, 302, and 351W are in the "Windsor" family of engines.
I hope you see this before major grief. |

good news and bad news. the heads will fit the 302 with a modificatiom to the cooling holes in the front of the heads. the bad news is trying to find a decent manifold or adapters for the 2v style heads. but it can be done. research any "bogus boss" articles or search on the cleveland site http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/119419.
