4X4 Engine Swapping

Anyone out there ever put a 5.0 from a car into a 4 wheel drive vehical? I've got a '82 Full Size Bronco with a 302 that's had it.....Well, I picked up a '77 Ford Granada that also had a 302 in it. I figured an easy swap.....not so easy My 302 has the dip stick going directly into the block on the driver's side and also has a rear sump oil pan and the Granada's oil pan has a front sump and the dip stick goes into the front of the motor. I was just planning on swapping the pans till I noticed all that. But I haven't had any luck in finding this pan that I need. Anyone know what year vehicals might have came with something like that in them?? Are the oil pan mounting bolt patterns the same for all 302's? No matter what year?? Will only a 302 pan work? I don't know if the blocks are different for the 351's or not My truck's been sitting now for well over 3 months and it's killing me!!!! you need a pan specific for the 302, have you checked around with aftermarket pans for the rear sump with the dipstick? worst comes to worst i think you could drill a hole in the block for the prevision or you could have a welder cut and put the pan part of the dipstick tube onto the rear sump pan, just a thought.

Remove the oil pan and oil pickup from the granada engine and use the oil pan and oil pickup from the bronco, that should take care of that problem, you will most likely have to use the exhust manifolds and the motor mounts from the Bronco also.

The 1977 Ford Granada 302ci motor is DIFFERENT than the engine in a 1982 Ford Bronco 302ci. They are only interchangable at the filter and gasket level. The bottom end (crank, journal, connecting rods, pistons, heads, intake) can be very different. The frames of both vehicles are different so that hose routing and dipstick placement are not the same. Is the Granada using a 4V intake, is it a HiPo motor, did the 82 come with 4 bolt mains, instead of the standard 2? Pick up a haynes manual... best move you'll make.
