ok i just replaced the rack and pinion, and power steering pump in my 88 thunderbird turbo coupe but it makes a loud screaming noise when you turn on an idle and just above an idle can someone help me with this |

Make sure your belt isnt too loose or too tight. It should be no more or no less then 1/4 inch of deflection. |

yea that would work but the 88 thunderbird has a spring loaded tenshoner |

i had the same problem in my 92 mustang,i poured some transmission additive in the power steering and the noise slowly went away slowly. |

if got an 87 Thunderbird with a 347 in it and i had the same problem so i figured i was low on p\s fluid but i didnt have any at the time so i tryed brake fluid and it solved my problem |
