inverted TTB steering

im am looking to create a TTB version of the popular hi-steer steering setup for straight axles, getting the tie rods and draglink out of harms way. would it work to take the rod ends and flip them up to the top of the knuckles without major modification? i have heard that the holes for the studs are tapered, but i dont know if this is so in broncos as well as explorers? i know i could jonny-joint it or put heim joints in, but i really dont feel like doing that.

Yes the tie-rod end holes on the knuckles do have tapered holes so that will cause issues with just using bolts without any other mods done to the knuckles. I do not know what a
"johnny-joint" is but judging from the name it can't be a legitamitely safe means of attaching steering components. Remember if you seriously modify the steering components like you want to do, you alone will be responsible for it being safe and reliable. So don't skimp on the safety issues. Good luck.
