Ok I got a question for you guys, Will a auto transmission out of a 87 crown victoria with a 302 fit in a 1990 Ford F-150 with a 300-6 cyl. the truck is 4wd and I was wondering if that would create problems as well.I am thinking the cars transmission is just an AOD while my trucks tranny is the electronic AOD. Also what are some reasonable prices of what I am going to have to pay on rebuilds on this type transmission.

if your truck is a 1990 model it is not electronic.that happened on some 1993 vehichles and all 1994.the trans will fit if its 2wd,the linkage may bedifferent, extention housing may be off by an inch and a half, wormgear on mainshaft(speedo drive) may be way off.governor calibration(the do-hicky in the tail housing that makes this puppy shift correctly)will most certainly be wrong.its a new ball game guys, its not like the old days.i get a lot of wrecking yards call me why the trans they sold their customer doesnt work right.be carefull, ask questions.

I figured there would be a few problems like you mentioned and I was looking for prices on rebuilding the transmission in my truck too!
