hey,
i have a 1967 Ford Custom 500 and my dad said he put a 351 engine from a 69' Ford LTD, and i am planning to rebuild the whole engine but i dont know if it is a 351 C or 351 W . How can i tell which one it has ??

You can tell either or 2 ways.
First.. The 351c has a different intake manifold. And the water outlet is upright not bolter on the front like the small block's. also, the head covers are different. They have a bump in them and they are signifigantly larger.

where at in the head covers ( mine has a groove on each cover by the letters that say Powered By Ford) ??? my water pump is up right it has in in-let ond out-let- close together does that mean it is a 351 ??? which or better 351C or 351W ??? |

Luis,
Sure looks like a Windsor block to me. The heads and rocker arm covers on a Cleveland are much wider to accomodate the canted valve gear.
You say this is a 1967 with a retro 351? Nice car, my first was a 1967 Galaxie 500 fastback with a 390. That was 30 years ago. Enjoy your car! |

Which are better Windsor or Cleveland ??? |

In my opinion windsor is better as it will just as much hp but has more torque than the cleveland |

the motor looks like a FE im pretty sure it is take a look at the heads and look at how wide it is so its either a 390 360 352 |
