Here's something for the automotive geniuses out there..
Recently I started getting this beeping noise from somewhere behind the passenger side of the dashboard, just above or behind the glovebox. It's several sustained, rather loud, grating beeps about a second each, then pause, repeat, once or twice more. It does *not* sound like a seatbelt warning, although the car doesn't have one of those, functioning at least.
Driving me mad, it is. Though I feel better now I'm pretty sure it isn't some sabotage device. It happens now every time I insert the keys in the ignition, and again after I've been driving about half an hour to an hour.
1992 Ford Taurus LX, 4 speed
Any ideas what this is, and how to make it stop? |
