problems after sparkplugs

recently I changed spark plugs and put in some bosch platinums. The ones I had before were generic ones. The problem I have run into is that it idles at 1k over what it normally does and should. A friend of mine said that it was the kind of plugs i put it and that it doesnt run that well on high performance plugs. But that shouldnt matter anyways as i have an msd ignition. As a result of the over idle it will slam into gear when shifting out of park. Any ideas are helpful!
