Does it T/case engage? and just no four wheel drive? I would check your front Auto Hubs, they are know to go out. I had to replace mine. Lift up your bronco, get it on stands, start it and engage your T/case. If it ingages the front shaft the hubs might just be the problem.

I had the same proplem on my 1995XLT when I got it. he auto locking hubs are "CRAP"
if the grease is hardening at all, the tolerance is too close and the magnet set-up is not strong enough to engage them. Tack the caps off your hubs and see if the grease is hardened. If so, I would spend the dough on a manual conversion. You can do it yourself and it only cost me about $80 and about 3 hours. You need any tech just hollar.
I also had a problem with the button on the dash, a pin broke of of the control box
at the switch. that was $125 and also took about an hour
Thats not dented, It's customized

Oh yeah, That would be the way to go. I just got the standard.

Also. On your bronco, If you have four jack stands, put you rig up in the air
and lock in your 4x4.BE CAREFUL> See if you have all four lock in. it could just be indication, You didn't explain what it is doing. Is your light not lit, are you just not engaged at the T-case, or is it just not throughin mud.

Thanks for the info ,but i'll explain more.
there is no shifter in the floor for the 4x4,only a button for 4 high & 4 low, when pressing the button it does not light up and does not engage have checked all fuses, thought there might be a relay thats not listed in the owners manual.

Also try to get under your rig and see if there are any wires broken at the t-case.
I hate to say this but you might have to see a mechanic if you can't find the problem

I had the same issue with my 4x4 a couple weeks ago. Simetimes the brushes in the motor get stuck so Just take a wrench and hit the 4x4 motor (mounted on the side of the transfercase) a couple times worked for me (seriously).

Swap to the manual case. Can't be too hard.
