Ihave recently aquired a 1987 f-250 which has a 351w. Iwould like to drop a powerstroke diesel into it. How big of a job would this be? And will the stroker mate up to the c-6 tranny without major altrations?

I think ya need a new transmission also not really sure. Why ya pulling the 351 is it still running good? If it is I would just keep it until it blows. If it aint broke dont fix it is my motto, then again I break stuff on purpose just to modify them.

Your best bet is to buy a donor vehicle. You will need everything from rafiator to transfer case. The wiring harness, everything.
otherwise it is easy

I asked the same question a while ago at http://www.thedieselstop.com/ and got some helpfull answers.
Return line to fuel tank
Stronget trans and transfer case
Stronger front suspension for the additional weight
I remember these were a few things they told me.
