Oil in the air filter

I have a 1992 Bronco with a EFI 302. A few months ago I noticed the engine started blowing oil into the air box and the truck lost a lot of power. i figured out there was a lot of backpressure and had the cats checked out, they were fine. Then I found out the muffler was clogged and I replaced with a glasspack muffler. Almost all of the truck's power came back, but it is still blowing oil into the air box (although not nearly as much oil as before). I checked the compression and the numbers were almost as high as when it was new.

Please help, I can't find any info on why the motor is doing this.

Thanks

Check and make sure your PCV valve is not clogged. The engine creates internal pressure that must be released. Your blow by is a result of this presuure not being able to escape normally.

Good luck,

Thanks for the help, but I already replaced the PCV valve twice thinking that was the problem and it still blows oil.

Here's something that I've done to the missus' 92.

I ran the breather line from the oil filler spout over to the side with the PCV valve.
I then teed the vaccumm from the intake to the breather line anf the PCV valve. I did this a while back. I also duct taped the opening in the breather box for the breather element. So far, so good.

well you want to half-ass it (offense intended) or would you rather like to fix it

the head gasket is probally gone/leaking(could be blow-by but i hope not)

pressurizing your oil or leaking coolant into your oil(run on a little trip 10+/- miles(town for me) and check under the oil fill cap or pvc if you seeing some frothy stuff going on fix it or you'll wreck your engine) and theoil is escapeing through the easiest path the pvc system

Offense taken.

He said the compression was all good. I'd take that to mean none of your silly ass comments apply. Go back to sleep.

Top rings are worn out. Not a big deal but annoying. I tried for years to solve my blow by problem, but nothing would work. I hate to say it but either live with it or rebuild the engine.
