Well, here it goes. I am new here, so hello everyone. I am a long time Ford owner my current vehicle is a 1970 Torino GT with a 351C 4V. Anyway, I am looking at a 1980 F-150 with the straight six in it. My question's are what kind of tranny does it have, it's a manual, and is it a good tranny for possible upgrade to V-8? What kind of transfer case does it have, appears to be manual hubs, and is it any good?
Best i can figure from the internet is it might have a NV450????
tranny, 208 transfer case and I am pretty sure a 9 inch rearend. I see a lot of potential (especially at $1200 or less). Should I wait and try to find a straight axle earlier model? Thanks.
