99 Needs motor, what will work?

I get I have to put a p71 motor in. I get if I change the intake and swap oil cooler over it's a go. Some say a 97 motor will work, some no. Most of them aren't ford specific folks. Neither am I honestly, This is my second P71, I had a 93 about 8 years ago but never had to deal with anything severe.
