hello, my name is edward and i am new to this site and i would like to say hello to everyone who reads this. i have a problem that i hope someone can help me with.i have a 2000 crown victoria police interceptor that is giving me some transmission problems.last week i was driving the car and lost all forward gear. i only had reverse.i believe the bands failed and was advised to replace the tranny.i had a friend who has crown vic parts and he had a tranny out of a 2003 police interceptor and it went in perfectly.later in the day when i drove the car i would get a engine rev just before it goes into overdrive.other than this it is strong and shifts perfectly.this high rev concerns me and i was hoping someone could help.thanks

I was looking at a 2003 p71 trans as a future replacement for my 2000 p71 as well. Several mods/updates were done during those years. Reprogramming the PCM may fix your rev problem.
