I have a 2005 crown vic police. There are front speakers in the doors, and wires connected to them. White w/ stripe and green w/ stripe. I don't think they are connected to the stock radio but can ttell for sure. Any ideas why or how to make these work? Thanks. Gdiddy

I had the same problem with my 2008 CVPI. After a lot of digging around I found that the front speakers were NOT connected to the radio. I think it came from the factory that way to allow the front speakers to be easily connected into for police radios. Here\\'s what I would recommend:

Remove your radio from the dash. You can use drill bits or small allen wrenches to stick in the 4 holes to disengage the snaps. Find the 16 pin connector at the back of the radio. If your front speakers are connected, there should be at least 14 or 15 wires coming out of the connector. If not and your car is like mine, the front speaker wires and their terminals were missing from the connector completely. You can buy a new connector from www.radiosandmore.com under Ford Harness. Next you will have to find the ends of the wires coming from the front speakers. I found mine behind the RH front kick panel. There was a big spaghetti bowl of wires in there, I think its where they connect most of the police equipment. The LH front speaker wires are orange and light green (+) and light blue and white (-) while the RH front speaker wires are white and light green (+) and brown and pink (-). The should come in twisted pairs, and you may have to remove some of the black electrical tape that is wrapped around the harnesses to find them. Once you get your new connector, use a small screwdriver to pry up and remove the red retaining clip from the new connector and the connector in your car. Use a very small screwdriver to gently disengage the snaps and remove the 4 speaker wire terminals from the new connector. Transfer the 4 speaker wire terminals one at a time from the new connector to the corresponding open holes in the connector in your car. Reinstall the red retaining clip. Now all you need to do is get 4 lengths of wire and to connect your radio connector to the speaker wire ends and you will be in business.
