Mystery part fell out of 87 Bronco - Please HELP!

My college aged son (who goes to college out of state) was replacing his ignition switch. Right as he was finishing, this fell out. Truck will not crank, but key will turn roughly.

Can you help us out? I cannot locate this on any schematic or parts chart.

Did you figure it out yet? If not, I would take to the parts counter at a Ford dealer and ask. The parts counter guy at my local Ford dealer knows everything. He has even gone into the microfiche and printed out a drawing of what I needed. I hope you get lucky.

from what i can understand from Chilton is it is the lower actuator i think. hope this helps.
