Hello everybody,

I have a '04 police interceptor and when I am driving i notice a Metallic CLANK or Chink noise when i accelerate and decelerate. As soon as i hit the gas pedal it makes the noise and when i let off the pedal i hear it. And when I brake for a red light I hear it when my transmission downshifts. It sounds like its coming from under the driver's feet and or from the transmission or driveshaft. its not loud, but if the radio is off anyone can hear it. Its really predictable and annoying and I want to get it fixed without taking it to the dealer for them to spend a lot of time and my money "diagnosing" it. -What could it be? Please help.

Sounds like a bad u-joint . Remove the driveshaft all the way, and replace all the u-joints. That should solve the noise.
