Hi, I want to buy a P71, and a guy here has several, from 2003 to 2007 models. All of them with 100000+ miles. So I'm asking you guys, what year is the best one to buy?
I can invest some money later, so if you tell me what to do after buying the P71 and change oil, antifreeze and transmission oil I appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you a lot!!

I own a 1997 P71. Any can be considered like a Super-Duty Mustang GT, and costs are parts reflect that. Most parts are made to last 100k miles or more. Its not unusual to see highway patrol units with 200K miles when they retire them.

Of the newer cars, my preference is the 2003-2005. Most of the parts from the Mercury Marauder will fit with no problems. Several website provide info on these cars.

Just remember to change Oil every 4000 miles or 4 months, Trans fluid every 15,0000 miles, Coolant every 24 months, Hoses every 3 yrs, and Serpentine Belt every 3 yrs.

Try www.p71interceptor.com for much more info. Abd www.crownvic.net for lots of info.

Also, look at http://www.crownvic.net/drock96marquis/index.htm for hot rodding.

It's just a SUPER-DUTY Mustang GT Sedan. 198K miles and still rolling HARD.

1997 Crown Victoria P71 SVT *** ex-US Marshall service (the CAR)
STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos

Thank you very much for your advice.
I just bought a 2004 P71 from New Mexico Police, with 124000 miles on it. The exterior needs some work but the engine sounds excellent.
I will post some pics this week.
