I own a 1997 P71. Any can be considered like a Super-Duty Mustang GT, and costs are parts reflect that. Most parts are made to last 100k miles or more. Its not unusual to see highway patrol units with 200K miles when they retire them.
Of the newer cars, my preference is the 2003-2005. Most of the parts from the Mercury Marauder will fit with no problems. Several website provide info on these cars.
Just remember to change Oil every 4000 miles or 4 months, Trans fluid every 15,0000 miles, Coolant every 24 months, Hoses every 3 yrs, and Serpentine Belt every 3 yrs.
