You know, I've been a dyed-in-the-wool Ford man for over two decades, but one thing about Ford really ticks me off: They have discontinued so many parts for my '89 Bronco. What the heck is that all about? Its not even 15 years old! Discontinued? What, is that an antique?

Anyway, when I had the back end repainted last year, the shop removed the molding/trim that is plastic with chromed strips, and runs horizontally along the bottom half of the quarter panels on one side, before they realized that they couldn't order new molding from Ford, because it was discontinued. Now I have it ONLY ON ONE SIDE!
Anyone know where I can get the molding? Don't say the salvage yard, I know I won't be able to get it off in any condition to put back on, as I'm just not very good at such stuff.

To be sure, we are speaking of the black plastic molding with chrome that runs along the bottomside of the rear quarter panel, broken up by the wheel well?
When I click on your user name, it gives me a message that it is unable to retrieve that page. Maybe you could contact me at: [email protected] for the details of what your price is on the molding, etc.

Matt, I am as upset as you are about "discontinued" parts for the Broncos! I found a company called LMC Truck that sells restoration parts for 66-86 Ford trucks & Broncos. I don't think they have parts yet for newer models, but there's other companies like them that might. Jeff's Bronco Graveyard would also be my first search, and then someone like AutoKrafters or Acme. Most of the truck magazines have ads in the back for alot of these firms, or do a search on Yahoo/Google. These parts are new, factory items that Ford never sold, or that are made from the factory molds that were sold off by Ford. Hope that helps!

Thanks, but I didn't find the molding listed at Broncograveyard.com.
