I lost the only copy to my 98 crown vic. We tried calling a Ford dealership but they only keep records going back 10 years. We also tried a locksmith who could not cut a key. After doing some research, I've realized that cutting a key to the door or trunk won't start your car because they're cut differently. Does anyone know what else I can do? I am at wits end! I figure pull the ignition but a)how do you do that and b)will you still be able to unlock the doors/trunk? I could really use some advice... |

I understand you have no keys for the vehicle. If it were me, I would spend the time to replace the ignition lock assembly, and get a key cut for the doors and truck.
If you have a Hayne's manual for your CV, it's all written out. Just be sure to disconnect the battery. Those air bags sure do scare the crap out of you when they go off.
