Heater Core issues?

K. Hmmm no leak on the passanger side of the car and all the hoses are hooked up! Lots of power via air motor! Air Conditioner works in all positions, just no heat? Hmmm so maybe thermo stat? I checked the relay fuse and its working. So I am getting fusterated and cold lol. Hope someone out there may have an good idea? How do check if thermo stat is fried?

It's cheaper to replace a bad thermostat than to test it. But let the car run until the temp gets up to normal. Squeeze the hose after the thermostat --the upper hose--and you can feel pressure if its working and it will be warm. You can feel the water flowing through the hose.

I change thermostats every 3 years. On my CV, I use 180 degree thermo. It will run a little richer, but it gets up and goes.

Sorry, I forgot. If you still are getting no heat, the core could be clogged. Are the heater hoses in the engine compartment feeling hot when you have the heat turned on inside? If they are both hot, and no hot air blowing inside, either the flapper is wedged closed preventing air from flowing to the floor, or the core is clogged.

Yeppers, the colpret was the flapper door that allows cold air and hot air to mix to regulate the heat comfort inside the car....(Some kind of motor) it's burnt has to be replaced. The cost of this around $70.00 for the part and 5 vto 6 hours labour at 75.00 an hour... the better part of 400.00 not including our taxes gst, pst and hst.

The mechanic is awesome, he manage to phyiscal push the door to the other side so the heat could come through, can't regulate the cold air with the hot air, but at least we have hot air and we can use the air blower on low medium or high....

This motor is located under the dash on passenger side, you can reach 3 of the bolts well enough, but one bolt can't be reached! So the dash needs to be taken out.. But mechanic seems to think that if he takes out the stereo, he might be able to reach the last bolt? oh well I am happy my wife has heat, as it is -17 out this morning... thanks for you replies

as long as You can feel the water flowing through the hose. it can certainly produce heat from your car. some Car Problems are worth searching for first before putting it to a test.
