I HAVE A 2002 P71 CROWN VIC WITH 125K ON THE ODOMETER, ALL SUSPENSION IS BONE STOCK WITH NEW BALL JOINTS AND TIE RODS AND FRONT END ALIGNMENT. THE CAR HAS A REAR END SWAY THAT I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO FIX, IS FEELS LIKE IT CONSTANTLY FISH TAILING SLIGHTLY. I HAVE HAD IT ON THE LIFT A FEW TIMES AND CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY THING OBVIOSLY WORN OUT. I EXPECTED A WORN BUSHING ON A CONTROL ARM OR WATTS LINK , BUT REALLY DON'T SEE ANY PROBLEMS, MAY JUST NOT BE CHECKING CORRECTLY. BY THE WAY, NEW TO THIS FORUM AND WANT TO SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE!! |

To go Energy Suspension and get yourself a set of poly bushings for your rear, both upper and lower. It will make a big difference in the handling.
With it "fishtailing" like you said, the bushings are probably worn out and allowing movement. The other possible problem would be one of the control arms is cracked and flexing.
Always get a four wheel alignment job. It will make the vehicle track inline with all four tires. Some shops still only do front end alignments. But then the rear tires could be tracking everything off set from the front tires.
